Jaime Griggs, LPC-A

Jaime Griggs is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Amarillo, practicing under the direct supervision of Arlette Back, LPC-Supervisor. Jaime works with children, adolescents, and adults facing various challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, mood disorders, and trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder). In her practice, Jaime utilizes evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, IFS, EMDR, and AEBT-T. She completed her EMDRIA-approved basic EMDR training and utilizes this modality to help clients heal from trauma. Additionally, Jaime has training in AEBT-T, specializing in the treatment of trichotillomania.

Jaime is a compassionate counselor dedicated to fostering a judgment-free environment centered on growth, resiliency, and healing. She strives to provide a safe, comfortable space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings as they pursue meaningful change. Christian counseling is available for those seeking to apply faith-based, biblical principles within the therapeutic setting.

My Story

Jaime began her professional journey teaching high school science in Amarillo before transitioning to teaching anatomy and physiology, along with general biology at the university level for a number of years. This experience provided her with deep insight into the lives of adolescents and young adults, cultivating a strong passion for helping people. Driven by a new commitment to supporting those facing mental health challenges, Jaime decided to enter the counseling profession.

In addition to a Master of Arts in Counseling, Jaime holds a Master of Science in Biology from West Texas A&M University, where she focused on human anatomy and physiology in both didactic learning and research. Jaime integrates her scientific knowledge of human physiology with her counseling skills to work more effectively with clients experiencing a wide range of issues.
