Arlette J Back

Arlette J. Back, LPC-S

Arlette has worked in educational and counseling settings since 2006.  She began working in early childhood education at Amarillo Montessori Academy while in college where she learned about best practices in early academic achievement.   Arlette spent over 12 years in education with experiences at every level from preschool to high school.  It was during her time as an elementary counselor at a refugee relocation site that she discovered her passion for social justice advocacy and working with at-risk populations. Other notable experiences in her repertoire include leading grief groups, domestic violence groups, substance abuse treatment, and psychoeducation/counseling for adult probation. Arlette has served locally and state-wide in professional counseling associations as President, Member-at-large, and on the bylaws committee for Texas Counseling Association.  Arlette strives to expand her knowledge in the field by staying abreast of new research and best practices in psychotherapy.  She recently received her supervision license and is looking forward to helping future therapists.  Arlette's passion is advocating for the vulnerable in her community.

Arlette's treatment approach can best be described as client-centered and trauma-informed, integrating evidence-based practices suited to the client's specific needs. Arlette believes in the therapeutic alliance between the counselor and client first and foremost. Arlette values your autonomy, assuming a supportive, encouraging role through your personal journey. Arlette would be honored to be a part of your next chapter!
